What the heck is a Gobo?

By btssound
What the heck is a Gobo? Wikipedia describes it this way. A gobo is a template or pattern cut into a circular plate used to create patterns of projected light. The name may be derived from go between, or from Goes Before Optics. Go between refers to its position between the lamp and the lens. At Behind the Scene Sounds our clients who have ordered Gobos, have increased the WOW factor at their wedding reception or special event. Generally, we help our clients create Gobos with their monograms or their first names. We have also helped create totally original designs. Most clients pick a favorite font and our designers go from there. Below are some examples of possible Gobo designs.

We currently offer custom Gobo designs for $250. This includes creation of Gobo, rental of lighting fixture and operation. We also include 8 uplights to enhance your dramatic setting. After your event, we will present you with your Gobo design, to keep and cherish. We will also visit your event facility and determine the best possible location for your image to shine. Usually the dance floor or a prominent wall is best. A great idea is to match your invitation monogram with your Gobo image. It’s a very unique and elegant touch.
